College Leaders to Present Budget Proposals to Board of Governors
HARTFORD, Oct. 3 - Leaders from Connecticuts public
colleges and universities will outline their budget proposals covering 20012003 to
the Board of Governors for Higher Education on Wednesday, October 11 in the
Boards third floor conference room at Capital Community College, 61 Woodland Street
in Hartford.
The hearing is to give Board members and the public a preview of finance proposals to
support current services as well as expansion items addressing academic, student and
facility needs across Connecticuts public college and university campuses. The Board
of Governors will act on the budget proposals on October 18. The hearing schedule is as
follows:

As the states coordinating agency for higher education, the Board of Governors
acts on public college operating and capital budget requests before they are compiled into
a systemwide proposal by the Department of Higher Education and sent to the Governor and
General Assembly.
